21 Amazing Indie Games Shown at IOX

A recap of IndieObscura's digital direct event including all participating games, and the team working behind the scenes to take IOX from concept to reality.

Indie developers and their games are the heart and soul of the gaming industry. Without them, we wouldn’t have as much passion, ingenuity, and creativity in the games that we play. As much as the indie scene has grown over the years, finding success as an indie developer remains a hard feat to accomplish.

It becomes even harder in a time of crisis when developers are not only worried about the success of their game, but also of their own wellbeing, and the wellbeing of your family and friends.

Seeing the difficult position many indie developers are in right now, IndieObscura, its parent company Greenlit Content, and top gaming website Shacknews, decided to help put together a digital direct event to help showcase indies of all scales, sizes, and genres.

Stepping in to provide additional assistance came HyperX and Asteri (Prima Games). IOX aired on April 11 at 3 p.m. (EST) on the Shacknews Twitch channel and received a wealth of positive viewership and feedback. We couldn’t be more proud!

If you caught the direct and want a recap of the games shown, or missed the direct and want to learn more about it, we thought it’d be helpful to put together a written feature to complement all the hardworking indie teams who contributed content, and the dedicated team who helped make IOX a reality behind the scenes.

To start off, here’s a recap of all the indie games and developers who participated in the IOX broadcast in alphabetical order.

To help us showcase all of these incredible indie games, we had a dedicated team working behind the scenes. Like the indie games it covers, IndieObscura is made up of a small team with limited resources.

We couldn’t have done something like IOX without the help and support of our parent company Greenlit Content, the team at Shacknews, HyperX, and Asteri, and we want to take a moment to extend our deepest thanks to everyone involved.

  • Video Editing Wizard: Bryant Magdael
  • Host With The Most: Greg Burke
  • Social Media Pilots: Cheese Roca, Ken Cavanaugh, Akinola Verissimo
  • Greenlit Content and its rockstar crew.
  • Asif Khan and his all-star Shacknews team.
  • HyperX for their generous giveaways, and Asteri (Prima Games) for amplifying the broadcast.

We also thank all of the viewers who tuned in or are checking IOX out now to help support indie games and their developers.

Thank you to everyone who made IOX the memorable experience that it was. In these trying times, it warms the soul to find creative ways to show indie games the love they deserve, and hopefully captivate gamers looking for their next favorite game to play.

In the future, we hope to continue IOX as we want to promote as many indie games as we possibly can. That is our passion, that is our drive. From our hearts to yours, we hope you’re all staying safe, staying healthy, and staying happy by passing the time with some fun indie games!
