Wargaming, publisher behind the popular World of Tanks series, has decided to bring World of Tanks: Blitz to Steam. For those of you who may be a bit confused, World of Tank: Blitz is a different entity than its free-to-play World of Tanks counterpart already available on PC.

The World of Tanks game you likely know is currently cited as one of the top 10 free-to-play PC games available. However, World of Tanks: Blitz was first introduced via the humble beginnings of mobile devices, and made unique use of touchscreen mechanics.

Now that Wargaming has ported Blitz to Steam, they’ve altered the touch version mechanics to make the game compatible with a keyboard/mouse setup.

Additionally, fans of Wargaming may already be aware of the fact that already Blitz has been playable on PC for a while now over on the Windows 10 store. Nevertheless, having World of Tanks: Blitz on Steam gives the game additional exposure, and introduces new fans to the game’s addictive tank warfare.

“With the game already available on Windows, Google, and Apple stores, Steam was a natural step,” Blitz production director Andrew Ryabovol explained.

“We want to give our players freedom when choosing where, when, and through which channels they want to play World of Tanks: Blitz. We’d like to welcome our new players and encourage everyone to join in and have fun battling across iOS, Android, Mac OS X, and Windows devices.”

You can get World of Tank: Blitz on Steam, and learn more about World of Tanks on the game's official website.
