On July 1, IndieObscura aired its second IOX digital direct with the help and support of Shacknews, HyperX, and Greenlit Content. IOX-2 featured 16 incredible indie games – some that are scheduled to release in the next few weeks, and others releasing in the future.

We recommend adding all of these games to your Steam wishlist to track release date updates, and to help support the developers.

To make things easier, we’ve put together this handy recap feature with all 16 games listed in alphabetical order.

With each game listing, you’ll find a summarized description from the game's Steam page (or website), links to where you can purchase and/or wishlist the game, links to where you can follow the developers on social media, and a fun game trailer to watch!

Art of Rally

“Art of Rally is a stylized rally experience from the creator of Absolute Drift. The top-down view lets you completely focus on the stages by seeing upcoming road features without needing pace-notes.

  • Progress through the golden years of rally in Career Mode.
  • 50+ iconic rally cars from the 60s, 70s, 80s, Group B, Group S, Group A.
  • Completely overhauled handling from the car physics system of Absolute Drift.

Before I Forget

“A woman alone in a house. A mystery and a love story. Explore the present to uncover the past, in a short story of love and loss and a life well-lived. A narrative exploration game that examines a world where memories are constantly fading and jumbled.”

Before I Forget has an official release date of July 16, 2020 and will release on Itch.io and Steam. You can also wishlist the game on Steam right now, follow developer 3-Fold Games on Itch.io, and follow @3foldgames on Twitter for future updates!

Black Book

A young girl named Vasilisa, destined to become a witch, decides to throw her fate away and marry her beloved - but that dream is shattered when her betrothed dies under mysterious circumstances. Aching for her lost love, Vasilisa seeks out the Black Book - a demonic artifact, said to be powerful enough to grant any wish to the one who uncovers all 7 of its seals. Join Vasilisa in her adventures across the rural countryside, as she solves the woes of common folk by confronting demons and performing exorcisms.

Chasing Static

In the dead of night a fierce storm rages across North Wales. Miles from any town, Chris Selwood seeks refuge in a remote roadside cafe. After a brief moment of respite, Chris finds himself venturing into the woods blindly following the distressed screams of the Cafe waitress. Explore the untouched wilderness of rural Wales as you uncover the forgotten remains of a government cover-up where a mysterious phenomenon caused time to stand still.

Danger Scavenger

Danger Scavenger is an intense cyberpunk-themed roguelike skyline crawler that takes you to the roofs of a breathtaking cyberpunk city, where you will face ruthless enemies controlled by the soulless AI. Forget about crawling through the dungeons, caves, and the darkest pits of hell in search of adventures and treasures. The world has changed and new times are coming. You'll be going up and out of the underground to seek new horizons and possibilities.

Danger Scavenger is available RIGHT NOW on Steam, GOG, and the Humble Store. Not only can you purchase and play the game, you can also follow @StarDrifters on Twitter for future updates on Danger Scavenger as the game is currently in Early Access.

Drake Hollow

Welcome to The Hollow, a blighted and dying place, and home to the Drakes. Drakes are the vegetable folk native to these parts, and they need your help. They’re hungry, thirsty, and need a place to sleep. They can literally die of boredom. It’s on you to save them. Build gardens to provide them with food, wells for water, and yoga balls and puppet shows to keep them entertained.

Fisti-Fluffs

“Fisti-Fluffs:

  • A physics based game featuring cats.
  • Compete with friends in up to 4-player local play.
  • Take screenshots in-game using the camera mode.
  • Hats!
  • Whack, pounce and... meow? your way to prove you are best cat.”

Fisti-Fluffs has yet to receive an exact release date BUT you can download a demo of the game on Itch.io, support the developers on Patreon, check out the game's official website, and follow @PlayFellowGames on Twitter for updates.

Floppy Knights

“What do you get when you bring a microprocessor to a knight-fight? A deck-building, sword-swinging, tactical adventure! Meet the Floppy Knights: tangible projections summoned from floppy disks. They’ll help Phoebe and Carlton earn cash and perhaps even save the world in the process.

Into A Dream

In Into A Dream you wake up in a mysterious place devoid of all your memories and come upon a recording addressed to you. As you listen to it, you realize that your mind has been linked to the dreams of a Luke Williams, a man diagnosed with severe depression. You are Luke’s last hope and must prevent him from… fading away.

Into A Dream is scheduled to release on July 30, 2020 on Itch.io and Steam. We recommend wishlisting Into A Dream on Steam, following the game on Itch.io, joining the official Discord server, supporting the game on Indiegogo, and following @IntoADreamGame on Twitter.

Lost in Play

Lost inPlay is a game about a brother and sister, on their journey through imaginary and surreal landscapes. Distracted in their play, the children lose their way and the journey back home begins. On their way they encounter magical and magnificent creatures such as a horned beast, a giant stork, magical seaweed, friendly frogs or travelling goblins.

Lost in Play is currently expected to release midway through 2021. To keep track of the game’s release, be sure to wishlist Lost in Play on Steam and follow developer @HappyJuiceGames on Twitter.

Out of Place

“Simon is a teenager who suddenly finds himself in a destroyed world. Help reactivate an enormous, ancient machine which crashed into the mountainside. Change your skill-set on the fly and adapt your playstyle dynamically using your machine-like companion, the Orb. He not only provides you an immersive UI but also acts as a unique side character.”

Project Sky

Sail Forth

Sail Forth is a procedural sailing adventure about classic naval action and exploring beautiful scenery. Embark on a journey through varied environments, grow your fleet and do battle with pirates, sea monsters, and the sea itself!

Physically Simulated Boats:
With great care taken to enable casual play while retaining real sailing concepts.
Unique Environments:
Each containing their own flora and fauna and ambient soundtrack.
Customization:
Choose from a variety of flag and sail designs, find new weapons and equipment for your boats.
Build Your Fleet:
No need to give up your cool boat when you get a new one, add it to your fleet and continue your adventure if one boat sinks.

Swimsanity

“Swimsanity! is a multiplayer underwater shooter with action-packed Co-Op and Versus game modes, all supported by online and local play. You play as our hero Mooba, who uses a variety of unique power ups and weapons to survive in this aquatic world. 

Whether you're teaming up with friends to swim into Adventure mode, or clashing in competitive matches such as Last Mooba Standing, there's more than 150+ challenges to complete across 8 action-packed Game Modes in Swimsanity! All modes can be played online or locally.

Swimsanity is expected to release Summer 2020 on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and Steam. You can wishlist Swimsanity on Steam right now, follow developer @DecoyGames on Twitter, and check out the game’s official website.

Titan Chaser

“Titan Chaser is a meditative experience where you don't need to manage fuel, car maintenance, health, or damage. Just find where to drive and how to use your tools effectively. Or just forget about your work and drive through foggy landscapes to calm down after a hard day.

In Titan Chaser you can:

  • Walk and interact with the environment and your car.
  • Drive your car in a fairly large open world.
  • Listen to the music of krapka;KOMA in your car.
  • Relax and observe mystical landscapes.
  • Scout Titans.
  • Do your job and make titans go away using lights and environment.
  • Discover the story and personality of the protagonist through her commentaries about surroundings.”

Titan Chaser is available right now on Steam! Not only can you buy Titan Chaser on Steam, you can also follow developer @StasShostak on Twitter for future updates on the game as it's currently in Early Access.

Undying

"Infected by a zombie bite, Anling's days are numbered. She must now fight to survive, not for herself but her young son, Cody. Ensure Cody's survival in a zombie infested world by protecting him and teaching him valuable skills, at any cost. In this emotional survival game take control of Anling whose goal is to make sure her son Cody is safe and can live on after she turns."
